Bill and I have been based in a town called Goma, on the volcanic border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo for just over two years now. From here we travel overland and by plane to South Sudan for temporary assignments every other month.

Over the past 3 years something remarkable has happened in the Vanga area, about 300 miles due east of Kinshasa on the Kwilu River. Joseph Musa, the Baptist childrens’ ministries coordinator for the district, has been holding children’s Bible camps in different pools of village churches of the district.
In case you didn’t hear, there is an Ebola outbreak in DRC. Vanga is about 250 miles directly south of the outbreak. We have no suspected cases at this time.
Jeni serves on the leadership team at the New Life Center Foundation (NLCF) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Established in 1987, the New Life Center serves young ethnic minority (tribal) women who are at risk for, or survivors of, human trafficking, forced labor and sexual abuse.
