I wish you could have been there! I (Ann) was blessed to be part of the first International Missions Conference organized by the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches and Swatow Baptists in June. The conference was held in Hong Kong where approximately 200,000 Filipinas work, primarily as domestic servants.
The International Mission Conference was held on June 14 to June 18, 2017 by the Convention of Philippine Baptist Churches Inc. (CPBC), Mission Outreach of the Shantow Baptist Church of Hong Kong (MOSBCHK) and American Baptist Churches International Ministries (IM).
During our commissioning service in 2013, our home church, Karl Road Baptist, sang “Send the Light” to encourage and bless us before going to the mission field.
The Chinese New Year of the Monkey became the Chinese Year of the Rooster on January 28, 2017. Our reflection on the Chinese Monkey year (2016) reveals a fruitful year for the ministry.
Rev. David Ngai is the senior pastor of the Kwun Tong Swatow Baptist Church, and Mr. Tony So is the executive secretary. They happily shared with me that their new church construction is making good progress.
International Ministries has been a close partner of the Amity Foundation since its establishment in 1985. IM has supported Amity’s relief and development projects, including the English teachers’ program that assists the training of Chinese English teachers as well as promoting mutual understanding and friendship of China and the U.S.
