This month of May we celebrate 212 years of the ABFMS / International Ministries and 30 years since we graduated from seminary. God is faithful in this adventure of faith that continues. We mentioned that our 13th trip of 2025 was through Ruth. Here’s her testimony and an update from us…

The Guajira – Colombia

“On Tuesday, December 16, we traveled to the Capernaum church in The Guajira (Colombia), to visit a Wayuu indigenous community to bring to them toys, happiness, and the message of Jesus to the indigenous children. It was a time of reflection and seeking God. This was not about the material gifts but to strengthen values like solidarity and service to God.

As we arrived at the community, the children’s faces reflected expectation, curiosity, and finally, an immense joy to receive the gifts. Their smiles became the best gift for those who participated in the event.

During the visit there were moments of prayer, songs, and Bible messages. One of the verses shared through this mission was: She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21, CSB)

This verse reminds us that Jesus came to earth as a man to save humanity, that this is our time to seek Him with all our hearts, with our soul, He wants what is best for us and loves us. Finally, this trip left a clear lesson: giving transforms the one who receives and the one who gives. As shared in the Scriptures: It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35, CSB)”

Just like Ruth went on our behalf, we continue going on your and Jesus Christ’s behalf. Sharing recently in the multi-regional retreat held in Indiana gave us the encouragement we needed for the task we would be starting in Spain in May. Our gratitude to each person who made it possible and to each one who continues to make it possible for us to continue going to Iberoamerica and the Caribbean with those who are making disciples in their communities.

El Número 13 del 2025 y seguimos en 2026…

Este mes de mayo cumplimos los 212 años de Ministerios Internacionales y nuestros 30 de graduarnos del seminario. Dios sigue siendo fiel en esta aventura de fe en la que seguimos embarcados. Les comentamos que nuestro viaje número 13 del 2025 fue a través de Ruth. A continuación, compartimos su testimonio y luego lo más reciente de sus BGs…

La Guajira – Colombia

“El martes 16 de diciembre, se realizó un viaje a la iglesia Capernaum en el departamento de la Guajira (Colombia), se visitó a una comunidad indígena wayúu, el propósito fue llevar juguetes, alegría y un mensaje de Jesús a los niños indígenas, fue un tiempo de reflexión y de buscar a Dios. Esta jornada no solo representó una entrega material; también se fortalecieron valores como la solidaridad y el servicio a Dios.

Al llegar a la comunidad, los rostros de los niños reflejaban expectativa, curiosidad y, finalmente, una inmensa alegría al recibir los juguetes. Sus sonrisas se convirtieron en el mayor regalo para quienes participamos en la actividad.

Durante la jornada se compartieron momentos de oración, cantos y mensajes bíblicos. Uno de los versículos que acompañó esta misión fue: Y dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESÚS, porque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados. (Mateo 1: 21, RVR1960)

Este pasaje nos recordó que Jesús vino a la tierra hecho carne para salvar a la humanidad, que es el tiempo para buscarlo con todo el corazón, con el alma, el quiere lo mejor para nosotros y nos ama. Finalmente, este viaje dejó una enseñanza clara: dar transforma tanto al que recibe como al que entrega. Tal como lo expresa la Escritura: Más bienaventurado es dar que recibir. (Hechos 20:35, RVR1960)”

Así como Ruth fue en nuestro nombre, nosotros seguimos moviéndonos en nombre de ustedes y de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Compartir recientemente en el retiro multi-regional realizado en Indiana fue de gran estímulo para la tarea que comenzaríamos este mes de mayo en España. Nuestra gratitud a cada persona que lo hizo posible y a quienes continúan haciendo posible que sigamos acompañando en Iberoamérica y El Caribe a quienes salen a hacer discípulos en sus comunidades.
