ACTS students

“Where exactly are you now?” a friend asked. Good question! It depends on requests from Baptist partners across the Asia-Pacific region, and how God leads. The last two months, God provided opportunities to follow up on several projects we mentioned in previous ministry updates.

Equipping young leaders: It was a privilege to offer an intensive English course to students at Asho Chin Theological Seminary (ACTS) in Myanmar. Please pray for these young men and women who are preparing to serve the Lord in a Buddhist context. Here’s a short video of them singing a praise song in English.

Thank you for coming,” remarked the young refugee leader. “We can’t leave, so we are grateful you could come to us.” Ann is on an International Ministries team working with Burmese refugee groups in Malaysia. The groups have started schools and community centers, since migrants are forbidden from sending their children to public schools or access public services. The on-going challenge is to support the schools, keep kids safe, and deal with bigger questions of survival and resettlement.

Making God’s Word real: The increasing number of new Jesus followers in Asia means our partners must rethink their theological education (TE) methods. Ann is part of a TE network developing new, contextualised TE resources for people at various educational levels. News FLASH: videos for the pilot TE project in Cambodia are done – a bit behind schedule, but still moving forward!

Thankful you’re with us on the journey,

Ann and Bruce

Praises and Prayers

Praise God! Bruce just submitted an article to an academic journal based on his ongoing doctoral research in faith-based social entrepreneurship. Please pray that it will be accepted for publication, and for Bruce as he works on a second article.

Pray for Myanmar refugees in Kuala Lumpur – for protection and that God would restore their hope.
