My recent Commissioning Service was a profound moment of joy, unity, and purpose. Surrounded by friends, family, and colleagues both in person and online, the event was a blend of personal reflections, cultural expressions, ecumenical unity, and worshipful celebration. As I prepare to step into this role as a global consultant for theological education with International Ministries, I am reminded that every step of this journey has been shaped by God’s grace, by the cultures that have enriched my life, and by the countless individuals who have supported me along the way.

Personal
The Commissioning Service was a deeply personal milestone, beautifully marked by a video capturing my journey of faith (click here to watch video). From my small South African village to this new call as a global consultant for theological education, each step reflects God’s grace. My family, unwavering in support, presented me with a plaque that read, “By His Grace, Through His Power, For His Glory” from Romans 11:36. This reminder frames my ministry, urging me forward in faith.

Cultural
This service was a celebration of my journey across three continents, with worship offered in Zulu, Hindi, Telugu, and English. This multicultural expression honored the communities that have influenced my life and ministry, embodying the spirit of unity in diversity. I am inspired to carry this vision into my work, ensuring theological education celebrates and respects the richness of culture in the global church.
The service reflected the diverse elements that define my ministry: from my roots in South Africa to my calling here, blending the voices and traditions that embody God’s global church. Each part of the day reminded me of our collective mission: to serve “by His grace, through His power, and for His glory,” as beautifully captured by the plaque my family presented.

Ecumenical
The ecumenical support was both humbling and powerful. Believers from Pentecostal, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and other traditions stood alongside me, underscoring the unity we find in shared mission. This gathering strengthened my commitment to working across denominational lines, united by our love for God and dedication to serving His people for His glory.

Worshipful
Our worship was truly profound. The African American choir’s inspiring voices, the special music selections, and heartfelt greetings from various traditions created a deeply worshipful atmosphere. Each element lifted our hearts toward God, celebrating His work through each voice and every note. This worshipful unity reflected our collective praise and gratitude, setting the tone for the journey ahead.
Global

To my global family who joined online, thank you for extending the reach of this celebration worldwide! Your presence and support are invaluable as I move toward my final goal. With only 3% left to reach my support target, I invite you to join me in reaching 100%, so that together we can bring theological education to communities worldwide.

With heartfelt gratitude, may God’s work flourish through each of us globally and universally. Thank you for your love, unity, and support on this journey!
