“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in him is not in vain.” 2Cor 15:58.

In the backdrop of Paul’s word of encouragement for our brothers and sisters in Corinthians was the resurrection of Jesus. The Christ resurrected has the power to bring into life what appears to be dead and hopeless. This gives us immense courage to remain firm, immovable, and full of enthusiasm and hope as we serve his purposes.

As we are invited to be this kind of people as we serve Him in such chaotic times in the world we live in, let us remember that our witness is not in vain. Our ministry to the broken-hearted, persecuted, naked, hungry, poor, migrants, those who think differently than us, those who agree with us, and humanity as a whole is not in vain. The resurrection is the guarantor of our service.

In April of last year, we had the privilege to baptise, in water, eight ladies from the Portuguese-speaking and English congregations. They came from different nations, culturally diverse, but had one thing in common: a profound love for the resurrected Jesus. This year we have three more candidates for baptism.

To see these sisters confess that the resurrected Jesus is now their saviour and prince of peace in this unsettled world just confirms that the work we do for Him is not in vain.

Mel and I just came back from our two weeks of church visiting in the US. During this time we spoke in a few churches and had meetings with groups of local believers. We felt so welcomed by each one of them. The purpose of this trip was to do some fundraising to complement our support, which is now at 18%, and share about our ministry. We would like to take this opportunity to invite those who would like to become involved with our ministry through prayer, financial commitment or part of our missionary support group. Please stay in touch if you feel the prompting of the Holy Spirit and would like to know more.

Please pray with us

Sole Deo  Gloria
