Do you have dreams about Christmas? I think many people in the States dream about having a “White Christmas” just like the old song. This was my dad’s favorite Christmas song as it is for many people. But, it does not make any reference to Jesus or his birth. Maybe there is something better to dream about at Christmas?

In Japan, the recent tradition of Christmas is often celebrated as a date night for couples on Christmas Eve. Or some have a family dinner with KFC fried chicken and Christmas Cake. In Japan, Christmas is a “time to spread happiness.” Many Japanese, I think, dream of romance and family time at Christmas.

Perhaps we could dream that the true meaning of Christmas would shine in Japan and around the world? The true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus, to save us all from our sin and shame. The Messiah was born of the virgin Mary and lived a perfect life. He sacrificed Himself willingly on the cross and rose again to prove His deity. Jesus promised to return after ascending to heaven. This is the true story of Christmas: the gift of Jesus for our eternal life. Would you please pray many Japanese would accept this present from the Lord?
