A word from your BGs Et Al-Colombia MPTers…

Dear Friends,

We have been friends of Carlos and Mayra for over fifteen of their almost 20 years of missionary service. It has been a privilege to serve on their Missionary Partnership Team, enjoying regular interactions with them while they served in Chile, Spain, Nicaragua, and now, for the past year and half, in Colombia. We have seen them in action, encouraged by how their devotion to Christ and love for people are effectively utilized through gifts well-matched to their field of ministry.

Team Bonilla-Giovanetti has come to an especially opportune season of service, in the land where Carlos grew up. They are ministering to churches in out-lying, less-reached regions as well as joining with national and international efforts in promoting peace. They also continue to offer and expand their on-line biblical curriculum on Discipleship, featuring clear theological connections with vivid visual presentation. This resource is now being requested not only by their Spanish-speaking congregations in Colombia, but by Spanish-speaking congregations and other non-Spanish-speaking regions around the world.

Carlos and Mayra are encountering richer mission opportunities than ever. While working mostly state-side during the present crisis, they also are facing new challenges, including needed financial support. They had reached their support goal a few years ago, as required to continue. However, over the past two years they have faced both rising expenses and financial set-backs including both the deaths of longtime donors and decreased support from congregations in the USA and also from Puerto Rico, which are still recovering from several hurricanes and other hardships.

We are glad to have a part in international gospel ministry by sharing this journey with Carlos and Mayra. Along with friendship and prayer, we have been glad to give, and to increase financial support as our own resources have allowed. We have had opportunities to invite mission-minded family and friends to join us in this effort. And at times we have been blessed to find special church mission funds which could give their support to Carlos and Mayra’s ministry.

Just now there is an extra opportunity to help bring our friends’ support level up to speed. Starting Monday, June 1st, matching funds are available to apply to any new monthly on-going support. A pool of over $200,000 has been generously donated to support our ABC missionaries. It will double any new or increased recurring donations (to be monthly for at least a year). Please see the accompanying details below–especially this month while matching funds are available.

We each have different roles in living and spreading the good news of Jesus. If you or a believing friend has the heart and ability to take part in this special offer, we invite you to consider supporting Carlos and Mayra to get to a green light level for continuing and expanding their ministry in Colombia and beyond.

Monthly Giving Match 2020 Guidelines

Start Date: Monday, June 1, 2020.

End Date: When the funds run out (in 2018 this took 3 weeks with a $100,000 pool)

Available Matching Funds: Approximately $239,100 Match

Eligibility: NEW or INCREASED monthly recurring donations to Missionary Support only

•Online donations must be made through the Monthly Giving Match page (this link will take you to the direct portal).

•Donations by check must note Monthly Giving Match and whether it is a New or Increased recurring monthly donation and note Missionary’s name.

Match Calculation: 12 months of NEW or INCREASED (amount of increase) donations will be matched.

Examples: NEW $100 monthly recurring donation matched $1,200. EXISTING $100 monthly recurring donation increased to $150 matched at $600.

Limits: Each Missionary Unit may be matched up to $5,000 Donations to Standard Appointment Missionaries raising Support only. Any funds not matched as indicated above may be allocated to additional Missionary Support or to the General Fund.

Notes:

•Credit card donations are strongly encouraged/preferred.

•Donors who may be uncomfortable with the Internet can call Donor Services to place their gift over the phone. Please call Donor Services at (610) 768–2323.

•Existing donors must create a new online donation rather than increasing an existing online donation. Donor Services can/will combine these donations later, but they need to be kept separate initially to correctly calculate the match amount.
