From May 25 to June 13, I will be on a mission to South Africa—the country of my birth, and the place where God first stirred in me a passion for global mission. It was during my early studies there that I encountered the inspiring story of John Rangiah, one of the first missionaries of color to serve in South Africa. His bold and faithful witness ignited in me the conviction that the call to mission knows no racial or cultural boundaries.
Today, that call continues to unfold.
South Africa is a nation marked by resilience, faith, and hunger for spiritual growth. Despite the difficulties they face—including high rates of crime, economic instability, and the growing pressure on family life—many South Africans remain open and eager to grow in their understanding of ministry and mission. There is a deep appreciation for international voices that bring global perspectives and hope.
In response to this need, I will be conducting a Pastoral Conference on Contextual Theology, along with a Leadership Workshop aimed at engaging with church leaders to serve more effectively in their unique contexts.
A special part of this mission is that my wife—who holds a PhD in Marriage and Family Counseling—will be joining me. She has lovingly taken some of her vacation time to assist in co-leading a Marriage Workshop. I will also be leading a Leadership Seminar in partnership with churches and community leaders. Together, we hope to bring encouragement and practical support to couples and families who are seeking strength and healing.
Please pray for us as we serve together in this sacred mission. Pray for safe travels, effective ministry, and open hearts. Most of all, pray that Christ will be glorified, and lives will be transformed.
If you feel led to invest in God’s mission through my ministry with International Ministries, I would be deeply grateful. Here is a secure link where you can give – I want to invest in this ministry.
Thank you for your continued encouragement, prayers, and partnership in this journey.
With gratitude,
Rodney
