Dear Faithful Partners, At 4 AM on November 27th, the ceasefire agreement between the Hezbollah and Israeli forces came into effect. There was a spontaneous joy on the streets of Beirut. People hugged, distributed sweets, and some even fired guns in the air – a normal practice of celebration. Refugees crammed into cars to head home, carrying on top their mattresses, blankets and suitcases. What awaits them at home will likely be further pain, destruction and suffering. The brief savage war between Hezbollah and Israel resulted in 3,800 killed, thousands injured and more than one million displaced refugees in Lebanon, not to discount the suffering in Israel.
Meeting Needs and Bringing Hope
In response to the war, Resurrection Church and Ain Zhalta Baptist Church haved worked tirelessly to bring relief, distributing hundreds of meals daily, supplying blankets and hygiene kits, offering medical care and providing trauma support. Each day, church volunteers continue to meet urgent needs. As they face illness and financial hardship due to mass displacement, they experience God’s provision in every food parcel, winter blanket and visit from church members who support them like family. Through your partnership, God’s presence is made real in their lives, meeting their needs and bringing hope.
