Transform Lives in Mexico and Beyond Through World Mission Offering

Will you help us transform lives in Mexico and beyond through the World Mission Offering?

Have you ever found yourself in a place of confusion, disappointment, or hopelessness? No doubt you’ve experienced these feelings at some point—we all have. Even the disciples who saw and walked with Jesus experienced despair and discouragement. Luke 24 tells the story of two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus after Jesus was crucified.

The disciples were downcast as they traveled to Emmaus. However, Jesus met them on the road amid their confusion and grief. At first, they were kept from recognizing Him, but then Jesus explained the scriptures about Himself. In verse 32, their eyes were suddenly opened, and they recognized their Risen Savior!

IM Global Servant Deliris Carrión-Joseph meets with survivors of domestic abuse at Deborah’s House in Tijuana, Mexico.

AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS CHRIST CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR THEM

After Jesus shared the scriptures with the disciples, they asked themselves, “Were not our hearts burning within us?” The answer was YES. Indeed, their encounter with Jesus ignited their hearts, so they immediately returned to Jerusalem to tell others the good news.

The disciples’ gospel message allowed others to encounter Jesus, transforming the world.

International Ministries’ global servants feel the same burning within their hearts. They are taking the truth of the gospel message from everywhere to everyone because of their love for Jesus and God’s mission. They desire that all people genuinely encounter Jesus in their lives. Does your heart burn within you, too? Do you want to be part of life-transforming ministries, experiences, and projects that meet human needs worldwide

YOUR GIFT CREATES LIFE-TRANSFORMING OPPORTUNITIES

IM Global Servant Moise Carrión-Joseph meets with refugees at a shelter in Tijuana, Mexico.

In Tijuana, IM Regional Coordinator Sarah McCurdy provides resources to children to meet their educational needs, changing the trajectory of their lives. They learn to read and understand scripture and experience the hope that comes with hearing about Jesus.

IM Global Consultant Ray Schellinger works with migrants and refugees in Mexico and beyond. Ray walks alongside men and women during the most vulnerable times in their lives, meeting their tangible and spiritual needs. Your gift to the World Mission Offering helps migrants and refugees right where they are on their journey.

IM Global Servants Deliris and Moise Carrión-Joseph are also meeting the basic needs of survivors of domestic violence, migrants, and refugees in Tijuana by helping to provide food, shelter, and safety. Moise helps provide support and training for migrants and refugees seeking to make a new home in Tijuana. Deliris comes alongside survivors of domestic violence and their children at Deborah’s House, a safe haven where they can find hope and refuge. Deliris and Moise share God’s love, hope, and salvation message to those in need, which changes their lives forever!

DELIRIS SHARED, “Seeing the abuse and hopelessness the women come with, my heart burns within, and that is God’s calling to me to do something about it.”

EMPOWERING AND EQUIPPING OTHERS IN GOD’S MISSION

Training church leaders to take the gospel to unreached people is another way your donation through the World Mission Offering can transform lives.

IM Global Servant Mercy González-Barnes teaches seminary students earning their master’s degrees.

In Mexicali, IM Global Servants Mercy González-Barnes and Jae Stockton work with students earning their master’s degree. Previously, there was a great need for accessible theological training for Spanish-speaking leaders.

IM global servants embraced the opportunity to create an online degree program so that leaders called by God could gain theological training, no matter where they are. Jae provides information technology support to theology students and also helps the children at Deborah’s House in Tijuana with their online education. Mercy educates and empowers theology students so they can go out into their communities and teach others.

“This ministry,” Mercy shares, “isn’t just about earning degrees. God is changing our world through these leaders.”

The ripple effect of training leaders is invaluable. When leaders receive theological training, they take their in-depth knowledge and experience to their own communities, train others, and sometimes start churches or ministries. In this way, one who follows God’s call to pursue theological education can reach hundreds!
