“Our God is SO BIG! SO STRONG AND SO MIGHTY! There’s nothing my God cannot do!” This line is from one of Amos’ favorite songs – what a beautiful and comforting reminder of truth.
This last month, I was invited by a local church to teach a workshop on Toddler Ministry. It’s the area where there is the least amount of volunteers because for some, little kids with high energy and short attention spans can be … terrifying. HA HA! Oh trust me, I’m no expert, but what a privilege and joy it is to share with these little ones about how much Jesus loves them! It’s really fun being able to laugh and play with them too. Honor God and Make Disciples is the heartbeat of this church and this rings true when it comes to teaching the 0-3 year olds as well. It was good to be able to share some of the tips that have been helpful, i.e. Wear Fun Socks – the kids enjoy that! Also, spend some time meditating on the lesson plan and see how the Lord uses it to teach our own hearts. Take the opportunity to check in on the guardians and parents who are also present during the kids time. Here’s some verses I encouraged them with: Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience…Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:12 , 16-17.
Not long after, I shared this with one of my local friends and she requested that I do a workshop with the daycare and parents at her company. Another church also asked for a time of encouragement for their children’s ministry volunteers. What a great opportunity to share Christ’s Love and witness the ripple effects in the community. Praise the Lord!
