A new day has dawned at Kikongo! For those of you who have followed our lives during the past three years, you know that this has been our most difficult term as missionaries in the Congo.
Melanie Baggao of Placentia, California, was commissioned to serve with American Baptist International Ministries (IM) in the Middle East. Baggao is IM’s third global worker to be serving in this part of the world. She departed for her field of service on October 21, 2015.
After being missionaries in the D.R. Congo for nearly thirty years, we are really being stretched now! Over sixty years ago, the Kikongo pastoral training school was established to train rural pastoral leadership. We have been involved with this school for twenty years.
International Ministries has been a close partner of the Amity Foundation since its establishment in 1985. IM has supported Amity’s relief and development projects, including the English teachers’ program that assists the training of Chinese English teachers as well as promoting mutual understanding and friendship of China and the U.S.
