Have you ever wondered if there is spiritual bubble wrap? If there is such a thing, I am certain it is woven together by prayers of faithful people. I’m pretty sure I saw it a few weeks ago in Wyoming when, glimpsing something out of the corner of my eye, I tapped the brakes. It was just in time to see another driver slamming on his breaks as he realized he had run a red-light. Stopping mere inches from my bumper, we locked eyes. He sheepishly grinned and waved. His grin faded, however, as a law enforcement vehicle with flashing red and blue lights pulled up behind him. Jon and I saw another moment of divine intervention two nights later. After exiting the highway, we strained our eyes for a gas station. We were looking so hard in the other direction that it shocked us when a semi-truck barreled in front of us at top-speed, blowing through the red light. Praise the Lord, we had stopped just in time.

Our family of six (plus the dog!) has just finished a network building trip spanning 26 days and 7,000 miles. As we came to the end of the trip, caring folks wondered how we were faring: Were there any problems? How did the car do? How is Pepper? Are you still speaking to one another? Amazingly, we can report that we are well and content. We know that this is not because of good luck or good we have done. It is because Jesus is faithful and He answers prayer.

We thank you for your prayers! Ephesians 6:18-19 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel…” Your prayers are essential! Please pray in these specific ways:

  • Our family will begin six weeks of missionary training in North Carolina. Please pray that God will use this training to sharpen our minds for cross-cultural ministry and language skills.
  • We praise Jesus and are grateful for so many outstanding partner-ships, yet we need a few more. Please pray for new financial partners.
  • Please pray for schools and churches in Hungary and that many more Hungarians will find hope in Jesus.

We are currently at 90% of our monthly PSG (Personalized Support Goal). We thank God for every partner! To reach our goal, we only need ten new partners to pledge $100/month. Ongoing gifts in any amount will help us reach our PSG and our family can begin sharing the hope of Jesus in Hungary. We need your help to get there while the window of opportunity is open.
