Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting from Lawrence, Kansas. I got here Friday August 3 coming from Gilbert, Arizona. At the First Baptist Church of Lawrence we have a large delegation of people who visited Haiti about a year ago to help start a school. This church is also helping train a young Haitian girl in the medical field. The girl was Kihomi's assistant while she was yet in Haiti.

Every where we go I am very well received and well welcomed. Our past connection makes it easier to relate to everybody. At their Sunday service, I brought the message before going to session of question and answers. Right after the session Pastor Mathew took me to Link, an interdenominational ministry that feeds the hungry four times a week. I helped share buttered white bread while my friend Scott shared buttered wheat bread. We had time to feed ourselves the tasty food brought by the members of First Baptist Church of Lawrence.

In evening we went to Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Shawnee Mission where people from different churches came to hear me. We had some questioning time before an ice cream social time. It was interesting to connect with many people from Chanute, Kansas who have been to Haiti several times.

Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Friends,

Now that each missionary is responsible for raising their funds these trips to speak at churches are crucial.  It can be tiring to go from church to church, sleep in a different bed each night and eat food that is not what you are used to.  This August Nzunga will be visiting at least 8 churches telling the story of his and Kihomi’s ministry.  However churches and individual Christians are getting much more involved with International Ministry and getting to know missionaries personally.   Overall I think this is great.  In the case of Lawrence KS FBC they have been to Haiti and are not just hearing but doing!  This makes this more of a joyful reunion than deputation work.  Has your church considered taking a group to Haiti?  It will be something you will never forget and allow you to understand what missionaries face in the field.  Consider it!  Pray about it!
