Celebrating baptism

October 29, 2007 Journal

It is a pleasure to be able to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our midst.

We are now in a new phase of the project. Now is time to consolidate what has already been developed and see again where we made things right or wrong. It is also time to restore our spiritual and physical energy.

In May we had the privilege to celebrate the baptism of three people from the Dereham Baptist Portuguese congregation. Mira, Ana and Luis are the first fruit of the work amongst the Portuguese speaking community and we are sure they won’t be the last. It was an exciting service done in both languages -- Portuguese and English.

It was wonderful to see them giving a testimony of what Jesus did in their lives. Please keep praying for them

In August, we went to Albania where we had been missionaries for 14 years. It was wonderful to see our brothers and sisters walking on their own feet in the presence of the Lord. This gives to us the certainty that leaving Albania was in God’s timing.

In that occasion we had the joy to participate in the baptism of nine believers from our local church there. Once again pastor Edmond and I after two years were together presenting to God the fruit of his own work.

It was fascinating to see sundown in Albania once again!

In our trip to Albania we had the chance to take four of our English brothers along. They have been tremendously impacted by what they saw and committed themselves to be in prayer for this needy country.

Our family is doing very well. The children started the school year on Sept. 4. They seem to be very happy. Hermelinda and I are trying to pace ourselves for the demanding needs of the ministry here. May the Lord give us his grace.

More workers (there is just too much to be done)
Spiritual discernment
For those who have been baptised
For those who are expressing the desire to be baptised
