Back In The U.S.A.

July 9, 2002 Journal

I arrived in the U.S.A. for what is now called "U.S.-Puerto Rico assignment." First spending a few weeks with family members near Elko, Nevada, where I spoke about the Congo at the First Baptist Church on July 7th.

My most recent activities in Kinshasa included working with Southern Baptist missionaries to introduce the "True Love Waits" program in Kinshasa. Training seminars were held with youth leaders, as well as a rally for young people, urging everyone to follow God's plan for sexuality, not only because "God says so" but because it makes sense in today's world. The Responsible Living Skills team in Kinshasa is in charge of follow-up work.

Looking forward to being at the Missions Conference at Green Lake, and from there I'll be working my way east to Haverhill, Massachusetts, where I'll be based from September through December.
