Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding experience in Europe this summer? Look no further than Hungary, where you can spend 10 days assisting with summer English camps and touring the capital city, Budapest.

This summer, 60–70 English-speaking volunteers are needed to work with Hungarian Baptist churches to reach communities for Christ. This volunteer opportunity is sponsored by American Baptist International Ministries (IM) and IM partner Hungarian Baptist Aid.

“The English summer camps in Hungry attract both children and adults, and they love for teams from the U.S. to participate,” explained IM Area Director the Rev. Charles Jones. “You need not speak Hungarian. Hungarian adults and children are enthusiastic students who want to learn the English language.”

The five-day camps are held in various Hungarian communities throughout the summer. Volunteers will be provided a list of camp dates from which they can select. The English-language camps, which attract mainly non-religious audiences, are very good opportunities to be a witness for Christ and answer questions about faith. Volunteers will spend the remainder of their time in Hungary sightseeing and shopping with fellow volunteers and a tour guide.

“The camp was full of opportunities for sports and crafts, but it emphasized worship and togetherness in small teams,” commented Bob and Cathie Hopper from Idaho about their own experience as volunteers. “Campers were given opportunities to accept Christ and it was beautiful watching their transformation with ‘living hope.’”

Volunteers and teams will fly out of the U.S. on a Wednesday and return to the U.S. 10 days later on a Sunday. Church groups, couples and individuals are welcome to apply. The estimated cost is $815 per person to cover lodging, transportation, meals and insurance, plus approximately $1,500 for airfare.
