Passing on the torch…

Our BGs have been reconnecting in person with the churches, regions, and countries where the Lord continues to take them. Each month in 2025 they have traveled and shared in their discipleship encounters. They have flown in 26 planes and slept in 28 beds. They recently shared at Camp Global in West Virginia (their 2nd time since 2014). The theme was prayer and the call in Matthew 9:37-38.

On the other hand, they shared at the Mission Symposium of the Baptist Churches of Puerto Rico, centered in “Passing the torch” and the Lord worked powerfully again. That Saturday, among colleagues and lots of anointing, the torch found its way to the hands of an 11-year-old girl whom He touched to serve in His mission. There is hope! He is still calling and there are those responding to His call to go to the harvest that is ready. Pics and videos on FB and IG (BGs Et Al).

The trip to the island was the 4th of 5 in 2025. The main reasons were the Symposium and the 125th anniversary of the FBC of Caguas; the home church that endorsed, commissioned, and ordained our BGs. On the first Sunday, there was a moment of recognition and gratitude for the 25 years of missionary service of Carlos and Mayra. It was a meaningful moment of affirmation. The guest preacher was Harold Segura, and his reflections reaffirmed both the church and our BGs about what is to come as they reach their respective 125- and 25-year milestones.

What’s next? It was 5 years ago when ABFMS reassigned Carlos and Mayra to serve as regional consultants for discipleship in Iberoamerica and the Caribbean. Next is that the Disciples of the Way continue with Jesus in the way. New doors are opening to go and make disciples, like in Matthew 28:19-20. With 25 years behind them, it is important to have an ongoing relay generation fulfilling their role and passing on the torch to others. Hence, our BGs must continue going and must continue sowing, watering, and multiplying what God has put in their hands to share.

To continue putting acts and love in action, continue/join/invite others to the network and MPT in support of our BGS and this missionary family that continues with their hands on the plow. The 2025 World Mission Offering season is based on Isaiah 43:19, which reads “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

For our BGs the new is to go where God takes them and where they can love those God puts on their way. At the service in Caguas, Mayra said: “We continue loving people and for the years the Lord allows us, we will continue loving people wherever we go. We trust the Lord, who has always provided, will provide for us to continue going to each place He is opening for us to share the experiences of discipleship and love so that more will know Him and the feast in heaven gets to be even more beautiful.” Carlos shared words of thanksgiving and congratulations to the church on their anniversary.

As shared in West Virginia, our BGs are workers sent into the harvest and will only be able to go if we go with them through our prayers, love, and offerings. Allow the Lord to use you to provide what is needed to continue going and passing on the torch.

Hechos y Amor en Acción: BGsEtAl 2025SepOct; Vol. XXVI Núm.2; Te paso la antorcha…

Nuestros BGs han estado reconectándose en persona con las iglesias, las regiones y los países donde el Señor sigue teniendo a bien llevarlos. Cada mes del 2025 han viajado y compartido sus encuentros de discipulado. Han volado en 26 aviones y dormido en 28 camas. Recientemente participaron de Camp Global en West Virginia (por 2da vez desde 2014). El tema se centró en la oración y en el llamado de Mateo 9:37-38.

Por otro lado, participaron del Simposio Misionológico de las Iglesias Bautistas de Puerto Rico, cuyo tema fue “Te Paso la Antorcha” y el Señor obró nuevamente con poder. Ese sábado, entre colegas y mucha unción, la antorcha llegó a manos de una niña de 11 años a quien Él inquietó para servir en Su misión. ¡Hay esperanza! Él sigue llamando y siguen respondiendo a Su llamado quienes irán a los campos listos para la siega. Más fotos y videos en FB e Instagram (BGs Et Al).

Ese viaje a la isla fue el 4to de 5 en este 2025. Las razones principales fueron el Simposio y el aniversario #125 de la Primera Iglesia Bautista de Caguas, iglesia madre que endosó, comisionó y ordenó a nuestros BGs. En el domingo inaugural, hicieron un reconocimiento y momento de gratitud por los 25 años de servicio misionero de Carlos y Mayra. Fue un momento emotivo y de reafirmación. El predicador invitado fue Harold Segura y sus reflexiones reafirmaron tanto a la iglesia como a nuestros BGs en la ruta a seguir al completar hitos de 125 y 25 años de servicio.

¿Qué sigue? Hace 5 años, Ministerios Internacionales reasignó a Carlos y a Mayra para servir como consultores regionales para discipulado en Iberoamérica y El Caribe. Sigue que los Discípulos del Camino sigan con Jesús en el camino. Nuevas puertas se están abriendo para ir y hacer discípulos, como en Mateo 28:19-20. A 25 años de haber comenzado, es importante tener una generación de relevo continua cumpliendo su rol y pasando la antorcha a las siguientes. Eso implica que nuestros BGs deben seguir yendo a seguir sembrando, seguir echando agua y seguir multiplicar lo que Dios ha puesto en sus manos para compartir.

Para seguir poniendo hechos y amor en acción, continúa/únete/invita a alguien a la red y el MPT de los BGs en apoyo a esta familia misionera que sigue con sus manos en el arado. La campaña de la Ofrenda Misionera Mundial 2025 tiene su base en Isaías 43:19, que dice “¡Voy a hacer algo nuevo! Ya está sucediendo, ¿no se dan cuenta?”

Para nuestros BGs lo nuevo es ir a donde Dios los lleva y donde pueden amar a quienes Dios pone en su camino. En el momento de gratitud en Caguas, Mayra dijo: “Seguimos amando a la gente y por los años que el Señor nos diga, seguiremos amando a la gente en los lugares donde estemos. Confiamos que el Señor que siempre ha provisto, seguirá proveyendo para que nosotros sigamos saliendo a cada lugar que Él está abriendo para que nosotros podamos compartir esas experiencias de discipulado y de amor para que entonces más personas Lo conozcan y esa fiesta en el cielo sea aún más hermosa.” Carlos compartió palabras de gratitud y de felicitación a la iglesia por su aniversario.

Tal como enfatizaron en West Virginia, nuestros BGs son trabajadores enviados para recoger la cosecha y solo podrán seguir saliendo si los acompañamos con nuestras oraciones, amor y ofrendas. Permítele al Señor usarte para proveer lo que hace falta para seguir yendo y pasando la antorcha.
