Discover Costa Rica with Dr. John Wm Grisham, Partnership Liaison for American Baptist Churches Great Rivers Region (ABCGRR) and the Federation of Baptist Associations of Costa Rica (FABCR). On this nine-day excursion, you will have opportunity to:
– Connect with other participants from various backgrounds in a 20-person group.
– Meet with International Ministries Global Servants Sue Hegarty, Ruth Mooney, and Sarah and Peter McCurdy.
– Visit churches in San Jose and along the Atlantic coast (including some previous ABCGRR-FABCR project partners and potential future partners).
– Participate in the FABCR monthly ministers’ gathering on November 2.

Additional Information:
– John Grisham served the Great Rivers Region as Minister of Mission Support and Institutional Support for 20 years (1988-2008), and as Area Resource Minister for 5 years prior to retirement in 2013. He has served the Great Rivers Region as Liaison for the ABCGRR-FABCR partnership since 2009. Grisham has also served International Ministries since 2016 as volunteer Area Assistant to Rev. Dr. Adalia Gutierrez-Lee, Area Director for Iberoamerica and the Caribbean.
– Through International Ministries, the ABCGRR partnership with Baptist churches in Costa Rica began in 1985. That partnership developed into a Covenant Mission Partnership with FABCR in 2002.
– FABCR is an Association of 25 Congregations and 10 Mission churches. The scope of the Federation includes an Office and Ministry Center, the Baptist Seminary, and Baptist Camp Ochomogo.
– Eight FABCR mission churches are sponsored by individual congregations and two mission churches are sponsored by the Federation.
– Since 2012, 10 ABCGRR groups have joined in partnership with FABCR to serve 7 congregations.
