Kick off Leadership Empowerment Training Program in Asia

Joyfully, Dr. Wati Longchar announced the kick-off of the second phase of the Leadership Empowerment Training of the North East Christian University in Nagaland, Northeast India. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Chan brought the inauguration message on “Ministerial Challenges in Contemporary World – Covid-19 and Beyond” on June 29, 2021. We were honored to have Rev. Dr. Akheto Sumi, Rev. Samaresh Nayak, Rev. Roshan Mendis, Dr. D. Khathing, and Rev. Taku brought greetings. About 280 church leaders, and seminary professors and students attended the virtual event.
This IM sponsored certificate training program will be conducted from July to December 2021, and to be taught by 28 seminary and university professors in Asia. So far, six theological seminaries have sponsored the training, and 264 students from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, South Asia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Taiwan have enrolled in the program.
In the first phase of the training program from January to June 2021, 193 students from 12 countries registered for the study. 137 of them fulfilled the study requirements, and received the certificate from the North East Christian University. Benjamin thanked Wati for his excellent work of designing and coordinating the program, “We are in debt to Wati’s tireless work in the past six months, (and six more months to go!), and for building the study network of Asia inviting the involvement of top class seminary and university professors in Asia. Wati is the Regional Consultant for Theological Education of East and South Asia, and International Associate Missionary of International Ministries.
