Juntos en el Camino/Together on the Journey

AND NOW WHAT?

We were meeting to evaluate their experience as students during the past two years. We had just celebrated their graduation the week before. They were happy, but already looking forward and they all had the same question… “and Now What?”

 They had spent two years reading, writing essays, supporting each other in WhatsApp, sometimes in tears and now it was over. What do they do with the knowledge and the new discoveries they have made? How do they share this with their congregations? Are there new ways in which the Holy Spirit is leading them.

 They may feel like the prophet Isaiah announcing to the exiles: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43.19 NIV).

 The graduates are now seeing the world in a new way, a way of possibilities, a way in which the Holy Spirit is moving us to new things. Please pray for our graduates from El Salvador as they seek to serve in new ways.

 This happened in August of 2023, but in the following week, we had the blessing of meeting with TWO cohorts in Nicaragua. One cohort was beginning its second year and one was just starting their first residency. There were mixed emotions, some were anxious and excited with many questions. Others were ready to begin their second year and were taking on the role of big brothers and sisters to the new students. “You can do this!”

 I especially enjoyed singing with both groups during our morning time of worship. There were beautiful voices of women and men praising the Lord. We were just beginning to know each other but we were one family in the Lord. The new cohort is made up of people from Nicaragua, two students from El Salvador, one student from Mexico and one from Cuba.

 I don’t know the ultimate purpose of this Master’s program in Latino/a Ministries but I know that the Holy Spirit is doing so much more than what we hoped for: “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…”, (Revelations 7:9a ESV).

 Please continue to pray for our students in Brazil, Bolivia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Haiti and other countries that I have not mentioned. Please continue to support this ministry through the support of this global servant. I am currently at 85% of my support. I am truly grateful for those that have supported me with their prayers and their finances.

WHERE OUR STUDENTS LIVE/DONDE NUESTROS ESTUDIANTES VIVEN,

¿Y AHORA QUE?

Nos estábamos reuniendo para evaluar sus experiencias como estudiantes los pasados dos años. La semana anterior celebramos su graduación y ellos estaban contentos. A la vez estaban mirando hacia el future y hacienda la misma pregunta… “¿Y ahora qué?”

Fueron dos años de lecturas, escribiendo ensayos, y apoyo mutuo a través de WhatsApp, a veces con Lágrimas y ya todo eso se había terminado. ¿Qué iban a hacer con el conocimiento adquirido y con los nuevos descubrimientos? ¿Cómo compartir esto con sus congregaciones? ¿Cuáles eran las formas nuevas en el cual el Espíritu Santo les estaba guiando?

Quizás ellos se sentían como el profeta Isaías anunciando su visión a los exiliados: “Pues estoy a punto de hacer algo nuevo. “¡Mira, ya he comenzado! ¿No lo ves? Haré un camino a través del desierto; crearé ríos en la tierra árida y baldía”. (Isaías 43.19 NTV).

Los graduandos están viendo al mundo de una forma diferente, un mundo lleno de posibilidades, un mundo el cual el Espíritu Santo les está moviendo hacia las cosas nuevas.

Por favor oren por nuestros graduandos en El Salvador mientras que ellos buscan formas de servir de maneras nuevas.

La graduación ocurrió en agosto del 2023, pero en la semana siguiente, tuvimos la bendición de reunirnos con dos cohortes en Nicaragua. Una cohorte estaba comenzando su segundo año y la otra cohorte estaba comenzando su primera residencia. Había muchas emociones mixtas, algunos estaban ansiosos y emocionados con muchas preguntas. Otros estaban listos para comenzar su segundo año y estaban tomando el rol de ser hermanos y hermanas mayores a los nuevos estudiantes, “¡Lo pueden lograr!”

En especial me encantó el cantar con ambos grupos durante los periodos de adoración en las mañanas. Escuchaba las bellas voces de mujeres y hombres adorando al Señor. Estábamos comenzando el proceso de conocernos, pero éramos una familia en el Señor.

La cohorte nueva está formada por personas de Nicaragua, dos estudiantes de El Salvador, un estudiante de México y una estudiante de Cuba.

Desconozco el propósito del Señor en cuanto al programa de Maestría en Ministerios Latinos/as, pero sé que el Espíritu Santo está haciendo mucho más de lo que esperábamos: “Después de esto vi a mucha gente de todos los países, y de todas las razas, idiomas y pueblos. ¡Eran tantos que nadie los podía contar! Estaban de pie, delante del trono y del Cordero…” (Apocalipsis 7:9a TLA).

Por favor continúen orando por nuestros estudiantes en Brasil, Bolivia El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Colombia, Cuba, México, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Haití y otros países que no he mencionado.

Por favor continúen apoyando este ministerio apoyando a esta servidora global. Al momento he logrado el 85% de mi meta. Estoy verdaderamente agradecida por aquellos que me apoyan con sus oraciones y finanzas.
