GoalThe goal of this project is to train individuals to promote and work for the cause of children in India in a holistic manner.
SummaryThe project seeks to raise $18,632 to train up to 30 leaders for holistic child development ministry.
DescriptionChildren need to be given the right opportunities to grow and thrive. They need to be nurtured in all aspects of life. Through this year-long training program, leaders will receive one month of an intensive on-campus course as well as seminars, field research and project-writing. Eastern Theological College, located in Jorhat, Assam, India, is the only centrally sponsored theological council of the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India. The college has taken up the challenge of training leaders to work toward holistic development among tribal children. This initiative is significant considering that tribal children comprise the most neglected group in a region that is characterized by poverty, illiteracy, violence and conflict in which children often suffer the most.
Suggested GiftsA gift of $100 purchases books or office supplies. A gift of $250 provides a full student scholarship or a teacher’s honorarium. A gift of $500 buys a computer for the project.
Prayer RequestsPray for the leaders that God calls to undertake this training.
