International Ministries is pleased to announce that Julie Justus Williams has been named Area Director for Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa and will begin serving in this role on February 17, 2026.
Julie is a life-long American Baptist who served from 2001 to 2004 as a representative of the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware (ABCOPAD) to the General Board of the ABCUSA and was on the Board of International Ministries. As a young adult, Julie was a member of an IM “Xtreme Team” to Costa Rica. From 2004 to 2006, Julie lived in Prague, Czech Republic, where she earned a Master of Theology degree from the International Baptist Theological Seminary.
Since 2006, Julie has served on the staff of the Baptist World Alliance, and for the past six years she served as Director of Global Partnerships and Unity.
“For centuries, International Ministries has been the standard bearer of mission agencies in the Baptist world and beyond,” Julie shares. “I look forward to building on the faithful ministries of Charles Jones and Reid Trulson by supporting IM’s innovative global servants and deepening IM’s relationships with partners. This region has held a special place in my heart since volunteering in the European Baptist Federation office in Prague while studying at the International Baptist Theological Seminary. I thank God for the opportunity to continue serving alongside the Baptist family that I love so much.”
“International Ministries is delighted that Julie Justus Williams will be joining our team of Area Directors,” adds Jim Bell, IM Associate Executive Director for Global Mission and Chief Program Officer. “Julie’s long history and familiarity with IM and our engagement with God’s work around the world, as well as the deep knowledge and relationships she has with Baptist organizations and leaders around the world from her work with the Baptist World Alliance, equip her marvelously for working with our global servants and partners in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.”
