International Ministries Launches First-Ever Virtual 5K: Miles for Mission

International Ministries (IM) is excited to announce its first-ever virtual 5K event, Miles for Mission, taking place during Holy Week 2025 from Palm Sunday, April 13, through Easter Sunday, April 20. This inaugural event invites individuals, families, and communities across the globe to walk 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) together in a united effort to support God’s mission.

Miles for Mission, a virtual 5K, offers a new way to engage in Christ’s mission, reflecting IM’s commitment to walking with global servants, partners, and communities in cross-cultural ministry. The event was inspired by Alex Bloss, a graduate of IM’s Emerging Leaders program, after her experience on a short-term mission trip with IM. “Never had I experienced anything like it before!” shares Alex. “I quickly realized that serving in God’s mission is about meeting people, walking with them on their journey, and introducing them to Jesus Christ. This is why I created Miles for Mission, a virtual 5K that is a tangible way to show what it means to walk with people in God’s mission.”

International Ministries invites individuals to join with their communities, regardless of location, to raise support for life-changing ministries across the globe. Participants can complete the 5K walk in their communities at any time during Holy Week. Early bird registration begins on February 1, 2025, and runs through February 14, 2025. General registration concludes on April 1, 2025. All registered participants will receive a Miles for Mission hat, a digital participant packet, and access to a personal fundraising page. The top three fundraisers will be able to win prizes valued up to $3,000.
