Let us Love One Another

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.                                                                                 Ephesians 4:4-6 NIV

What does it mean to have a global encounter? What does it entail? Is there a moment in which we are invited to leave our comfort zones?

I have been a global servant since the year 2000 but I have had encounters with people of different cultures since I was born in New York City. We experience differences in language, culture, economic status, traditions, and religion. It can be a stressful experience, or it can be an opportunity for learning and growth.

In the MTS (Masters in Theological Studies in Latin America) I am constantly exposed to different groups from different countries. The differences can be in age, how we view faith and doctrine, how we worship, how we view who can do ministry but what unites us is our faith in Jesus as Lord and his command to “Love One Another” John 13.34a.

I have had the blessing of visiting many countries such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Puerto Rico and have had students from many other countries. One of the things that I learned early in ministry is that before I arrived on the scene, the Spirit of God was already there working and changing lives. I just had to join in to what God is doing.

Amémonos los Unos A Los Otros

¿Qué significa tener un Encuentro global? ¿Qué implica? ¿Existe un momento en el que se nos invita a salir de nuestras zonas de confort?

Soy servidora global desde el año 2000, pero he tenido encuentros con personas de diferentes culturas desde que nací en Nueva York. Experimentamos diferencias de idioma, cultura, situación económica, tradiciones y religión. Puede ser una experiencia estresante o una oportunidad de aprendizaje y crecimiento.

En el MTS (Máster en Estudios Teológicos en América Latina) estoy constantemente expuesta a diferentes grupos de distintos países. Las diferencias pueden ser de edad, de cómo vemos la fe y la doctrina, de cómo adoramos, de cómo vemos quién puede hacer ministerio, pero lo que nos une es nuestra fe en Jesús como Señor y su mandato de “Amarnos los unos a los otros” Juan 13.34a. NIV

He tenido la bendición de visitar muchos países como México, República Dominicana, Cuba, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, Brasil, Nicaragua, El Salvador y Puerto Rico y he tenido estudiantes de muchos otros países. Una de las cosas que aprendí temprano en el ministerio es que antes de que yo llegara a la escena, el Espíritu de Dios ya estaba allí trabajando y cambiando vidas. Yo sólo tenía que unirme a lo que Dios estaba haciendo.
