Dear Loved Ones,
Greeting. This past Friday May 17 something that has left me still wondering happened at our church. While we all were waiting for the church to fill up, 5 girls walked in. They started acting strangely as though they were in need of some kind of attention.
After the service I approached them to realize that they were coming from a nearby Batey ( a sugar cane camp for Haitians) but the worst Batey according to people familiar with the area.
The girls were in need of prayers. The first one asked for a prayer to clean her mouth because she loves to insult people. The second one wanted prayer to help her do well in school, get a good job so that she can help her mom when her mom is no longer able to take care of herself. The rest wanted prayers to help them stop fighting with people. They said that they did not respect other persons and were ready to fight anybody.
At times, it seems really scary, but it is a challenge we need to face.
After we finished visiting with them, I invited them with their parents to IM 210th celebration of MISSION (International Ministries) next Tuesday at 7 PM.
Will you please help us with your prayers.
Yours,
Nzunga & Kihomi
Dear supporters,
Another example of what happens when God sends in a pastor that can communicate with Haitians in the area. Something they have never had. Pray for Nzunga and Kihomi to have the wisdom of God to help situations like these. A few weeks ago, they were asked to referee a family fight. I am certain they will be in the middle of several situations like these.
Respectfully,
Dennis Shewell and the MPT Team
