Eastern Theological College Virtual Graduation Ceremony

I will attend and speak at the virtual Graduation Ceremony of Eastern Theological College (ETC) in Jorhat, Assam, NE India at 10 am (India time) this Sunday August 29, which is 12:30 am EDT. Yes, I sent my video message ahead of time to avoid possible internet or technical problem. Praise the Lord for the 110 students who finished their study and join the ministry of God’s Kingdom. ETC has 19 faculty members (including 2 on doctoral study leave) serving 367 students. Many ETC teachers are International Ministries Leadership Development Grant recipient including Principal Rev. Prof. Dr. L.M. Narola Imchen.

The history of ETC can be traced all the way back to 1903 of the small but important effort of American Baptist missionary Rev, P.H. Moore to provide Bible school training. The last missionaries served with ETC are Dr. Fred and Mary Downs. Fred is probably the best scholar on NE India church history, and has made significant contributions not only producing renowned Christian scholars like Dr. Wati Longchar, but also funding the physical structure of the campus. Fred also inspired IM to start two Leadership Development Grant (LDG) programs: the Fred Downs LGD for Graduate Study, and the Miles Bronson LGD for Underserved Conventions and Associations.
