GoalThe goal of this project is to provide a shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence in Tijuana.
SummaryThis project seeks to raise $41,176 annually in order to support the ministry of Deborah’s House in Tijuana.
DescriptionDeborah’s House provides a safe place for women and children who are victims of domestic violence and are at risk for being killed. We are a temporary residence where the women have a chance to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually in a safe environment. For more than 20 years, Deborah’s House has helped women and children experience God’s love and care. Our holistic program focuses on 3 areas: 1) prevention, 2) crisis intervention and 3) rehabilitation. Our ministry operates in relationship with the Baptist Women’s Confederation of Baja California. While in our care, the women are empowered through pastoral care, psychological help, legal advice and vocational training. We offer follow-up services through a friendship/coaching relationship with the women for stayed at Deborah’s House for 4 months. Funds provide for the major costs of operating the house and are used to identify the government services available to the women and children. Many who complete the program now have Jesus Christ as their Savior and guide. Others still struggle with the difficulties of being a single parent in Tijuana. Every Christmas we have a “Homecoming” of former residents. Once they’ve been embraced by our ministry, they are “Deborah’s”, and we continue our relationship with them as long as they need us. The project total cost is $123,529 over 3 years, or $41,176 per year.
