Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings. Our New Creation Baptist Church celebrated the 210th anniversary year of mission. This celebration was well attended, and, in the end, we had plenty of food.

The following Sunday was Mother’s Day in the Dominican Republic. The attendance was behind our own imagination. Many people attended this service where the church leaders shared gifts with all the mothers present in the service.

While all this looks and sounds very exciting, the Friday May 31 service was the most difficult for us as pastors. We were learning the passing of Graig Wear in Boone and of one among the girls who came for prayers. The Haitian girl did not receive the appropriate care since she was illegal in the country, according to what people were murmuring.

The Sunday June 2, after church, many of us went to visit and pray with the family that lost the girl. After that visit we drove to visit a man who just prayed once with us but whom we have not yet seen since our return. After checking we learned that he had a broken leg because the truck ran over him.

What to say after all this? Just keep us in your love and in your prayers.

Yours

Nzunga & Kihomi

Dear Supporters,

It seems to me that life in the DR moves much faster than laid back Haiti.  Something both good and bad is happening all the time.  Then we have the language problem as they have not learned Spanish yet.  They are doing church services with a translator at this time.

Keep them in your prayers.

Yours,

Dennis Shewell
