July: It is finally here!!! As of Wednesday, July 1st, 2020, your BGs (and throughout the month 6 of our global servant colleagues) reach an important milestone:

20 years of ongoing service through the
American Baptist Foreign Mission Society (ABFMS)!

What two decades these have been thus far… It is time to stop, smell the roses, and recap the impact of your partnership, friendship, and love to us, and to our family in particular. We do so while experiencing the effects of this COVID-19 global pandemic…

In the ABFMS, also known as International Ministries, we have a digitalized platform that records each donation received. We’ve looked at the investment into God’s kingdom through our ministry since 2009 and, though it might be surprising to see your gifts to us summed up for these many years, within these last 10 years your generosity, obedience, and faithfulness to God in loving us keeps impacting the lives of many in Chile, Spain, Nicaragua, and Colombia! Children, young, mature, indigenous, migrants, refugees, humble men and women of God! THANK YOU!!!

As we reach this milestone and look forward to the next 10 years, we covet your ongoing support as the first time you joined and blessed us with your love. Since we began in 2000, our children have become teens and adults. We have lost Carlos’ parents and are caring for Mayra’s. Gifts received from more than half of the states in the USA and from Puerto Rico, enable us to complete this cycle and prepare for another one. The future continues to be bright as are God’s promises. The current global financial crisis has indeed diminished our financial support network! Yet, YHWH continues to YIRE. He continues to be our provider… We are grateful for His faithfulness even if the numbers don’t seem to indicate that.

Each time we get a notification of a gift, we thank the Lord for loving on us so that we can love on those He puts daily in our path. Discipleship, peace and justice are at the heart of our family’s ministry. You are part of what God is doing everywhere He takes us through your prayers, communication, and ongoing financial support. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Luke 12: 34). During these challenging times, a monthly gift tells us we can count on your continuing support each month. We are grateful for your ongoing partnership in His mission!

Beyond the match campaign ABFMS just had, feel free to invite your household, friends, and another church to join you in our network through prayer, encouragement, and/or financial support. There is always room for more! While many of us have benefited from social media to stay connected through this pandemic, there are those like the Wayuu in The Guajira that need us to physically go to them to receive their discipleship and care! Our support to FBC Cúcuta and Riohacha as they care for the migrant families from Venezuela is also vital, especially through this pandemic where resources for food is so limited. We praise God for the sewing machines that continue blessing so many; besides the blankets for the migrants, the machines are being used to make COVID-19 protection gear for the local hospitals. Therefore, we truly appreciate everything you do to make sure we remain in active service through ABFMS beyond our 20th anniversary!

This upcoming decade promises to be quite busy as our calling to share His Good News, to make disciples, and to love in word and with actions the many who are yet to join His family continues. We go in the power promised to us: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1.8 CSB) Your partnership and support are vital for us to achieve a holistic 100%. May God continue to bless you as you bless us to bless many more…
