ALEMLA and LANU work with the Banjara community in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states in southern India. The Banjaras were nomads originally, but today, most have settled down as farmers although they still live in isolated groups. In 1983, IM began reaching the Banjaras with the gospel through social, educational and medical programs. Alemla and Lanu train local leaders to reach their communities and empower women to bring change. They also work with youth to impact future generations. Through these efforts, thousands have heard the Good News, and several churches have been planted.
