Katherine & Wayne Niles

Katherine and Wayne Niles serve in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Wayne works with Durable Solutions Congo (DSC), a spin-off from IMA World Health’s Congo programs; DSC implements integrated, holistic, and sustainable interventions focused on improving health for vulnerable populations. Katherine serves as medical coordinator for a network of rural Baptist hospitals, leading efforts to support physicians, nurses, and hospital staff. Together with a coordination team, she builds capacity through targeted training programs, provision of essential equipment, and development of infrastructure to help ensure consistent, quality care for poor and rural patients. Katherine and Wayne also organize installing solar power to increase energy reliability and computerizing financial management to enhance hospital administration and accountability.
