Hermelinda & Jorge Damasceno
HERMELINDA and JORGE serve with the Baptist Churches in the East Anglia region of the United Kingdom. They assist churches in reaching communities of Portuguese-speaking migrant workers by visiting, assessing needs and developing strategies to welcome and provide services for the migrants to grow in their understanding of God’s love, truth and justice. Previously working in Albania, Hermelinda and Jorge now serve in the UK as jointly appointed global servants of IM and JAMI, the cross-cultural mission agency of the National Baptist Convention (CBN) in Brazil. They also serve in Tanzania with Health Amplifier, an NGO partner co-founded by Jorge, who also serves as its executive director. Health Amplifier delivers affordable and community-focused medical care to remote areas in Tanzania.
