A joint effort of the Provincial Coordination Council of Churches of Cuba in the Mayabeque province, the CIC Biblical Commission and the Emanuel Christian Community Baptist Church of San José de las Lajas allowed the presentation of the Apostle Paul dictating the letter of Second Timothy to his dear friend and spiritual son Timothy.

A very charismatic and beloved brother named J. Houghton Kane (Special Assistant for International Ministries ABCUSA) has been visiting for 20 years the Fraternity of Baptist Churches of Cuba (FIBAC) and especially the Church in San Jose de Las Lajas. In his last 5 visits, Houghton has brought the character of the Apostle Paul. In his monologues he dictates different epistles of this great missionary, doing it completely by heart and in Spanish although English is his native language.

In previous years it has been presented basically in churches affiliated with the FIBAC, but this year 2018 its presentations, Second Timothy, have had an interdenominational accent making itself present in the following Churches of the province Mayabeque: Fountain of Missionary Salvation in Güines, Assemblies of God in Los Palos, Presbyterian of San Nicolás, Evangelical League in Bejucal and FIBAC of San José, having in each of these places comments from the assistants regarding the positive impact of these presentations, which helped to better understand the Epistles of Paul. They also had the opportunity to “take pictures with Paul” and receive as a remembrance New Testaments donated by the CIC Biblical Commission.

Paul also kindly appeared at the Moravian Church of Jagüey Grande in the Matanzas province. We hope that this experience can be repeated in 2019 and that Paul can visit other churches that have not yet had the opportunity to receive him.

Un esfuerzo conjunto de la Coordinación Provincial Consejo de Iglesias de Cuba en la provincia Mayabeque, la Comisión Bíblica del CIC y la Iglesia Bautista Comunidad Cristiana Emanuel de San José de las Lajas permitió la presentación del Apóstol Pablo dictando la carta de Segunda de Timoteo a su querido amigo e hijo espiritual Timoteo.

Un hermano muy carismático y querido llamado J. Houghton Kane (Asistente Especial de Ministerios Internacionales) ha estado visitando durante 20 años a la Fraternidad de Iglesias Bautistas de Cuba (FIBAC) y en especial a la mencionada Iglesia en San José de las Lajas, en sus últimas 5 visitas ha traído incorporado al personaje del Apóstol Pablo, con cuya caracterización nos ha brindado monólogos donde dicta epístolas diferentes de este gran misionero, haciéndolo completamente de memoria y en idioma español aunque el inglés es el suyo original.

En años anteriores se ha presentado básicamente en Iglesias afiliadas a la FIBAC, pero este año 2018 sus presentaciones, de Segunda de Timoteo, han tenido un marcado acento ecuménico haciéndose presente en las Iglesias siguientes de la provincia Mayabeque: Fuente de Salvación Misionera en Güines, Asambleas de Dios en Los Palos, Presbiteriana de San Nicolás, Liga Evangélica en Bejucal y FIBAC de San José, teniendo en cada uno de estos lugares comentarios de los asistentes en cuanto al impacto positivo de estas presentaciones, que ayudaron a entender mejor las Epístolas de Pablo, también hubo oportunidad de “hacerse fotos con Pablo” y recibir como recuerdo Nuevos Testamentos donados por la Comisión Bíblica del CIC.

Pablo también tuvo la amabilidad de presentarse en la Iglesia Morava de Jagüey grande en la provincia Matanzas. Esperamos que esta experiencia pueda repetirse en el 2019 y que Pablo pueda visitar otras Iglesias que aún no han tenido la oportunidad de recibirle.
