GoalThe goal of this project is to support, equip and train 8 -12 young adults from Africa per year to serve as missionaries in Africa.
SummaryThis project seeks to raise $27,600 per year* to train young African missionaries to engage in evangelism, discipleship and church planting in Africa.
DescriptionThe All-Africa Baptist Fellowship has started a new program to train and equip young Africans to serve as missionaries in countries in Africa. The first cohort began in May 2024 with eight participants. They completed two months of training at the Missions Center in Accra, Ghana, during which they visited a different church each Sunday. The third month focused on hands-on, in-field experience, as participants served alongside the AABF’s existing Baptist partners in four countries, receiving ongoing mentorship, supervision, and practical training. The project goal is to build and expand upon this first cohort, ultimately supporting 12 young missionaries in six countries in Africa for up to a two-year period. It is designed for young adults, between the ages of 21–35, for those who are sensing God’s call to mission service. The goal is to reach geographical areas across the continent of Africa (especially northern Africa) where there are historically few followers of Jesus Christ. The All-Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF) is the regional arm of the Baptist World Alliance in Africa. It was established in 1982 to unite and coordinate Baptist conventions and unions across the continent. *This special program costs $1,000 per month, per person; IM seeks to raise $27,600/ year to provide full support for two persons (this amount includes the training costs per month for two people ($24,000) plus project management expenses). The total expenses for three years are $82,800.
Suggested GiftsA gift of $500 will fund a missionary’s accommodation for 6 months to 1 year, depending on the country to which they are sent. A gift of $1,000 will support one missionary for one month. A gift of $5,000 would support the mission engagement of one missionary for five months on the field.
Prayer RequestsPray for the students who will attend this training program, that they will feel God’s call, especially to those least aware of the good news of Jesus. Pray for their ability to serve cross-culturally, and adjust to challenging political, social and economic country contexts.
