It’s that time of year again!
We have returned safely to Hungary after a wonderful summer in the USA. We attended an International Ministries conference in Denver and enjoyed lots of family time. But when August comes to an end our hearts long for Hungary.
September 2 is the first day of school all across Hungary, and our older daughters Ruth and Maggie moved into their dorm last night and started school this morning. It’s incredible to us that both our girls will attend school in Budapest. They will come home every weekend, but we will miss them! Please join us in praying for a successful school year and safe travels.
Brandy especially will miss her sisters. She starts 6th grade this year, so she and I walked to school together in our black and white formal school attire with the school sash.
I love the school year opening ceremonies! The children look so beautiful in their black and white, and there is excitement in the air. Because our school is an art school, our folk dancers performed and one of my 3rd graders played the classical guitar. At the elementary school the kids stand at attention in the gym during the ceremony.
At the middle school, the kids stand in the courtyard, where we enjoy the sun (not too hot yet this morning!) and feel the breeze teasing the leaves with the promise of autumn. The school pastor encouraged the kids with Paul’s words to Timothy then led us in prayer. This is Brandy’s class praying. She is in the back, to the right of the tree.
Once the school year gets established, Larry will resume his visits to Serbia. He is looking forward to seeing his friends and renewing relationships there.
We thank you for your support and prayers that keep us here on the field. This begins our 11th school year!
