He is Alive
John 3:16 (NLT) – “For this is how GOD loved the world: He gave HIS ONE and ONLY SON, so that everyone who believes in HIM will not perish but have eternal life.”
Hello Family, Friends, and Ministry Partners:
Happy Resurrection Sunday to all of you. As we move into Holy Week, starting with Palm Sunday and ending with Resurrection Sunday, I hope all of you will remember the first time you recited John 3:16. I remember reciting John 3:16 by heart as a child in Sunday School. I also have memories of the Children’s Choir singing, “O Angel Roll the Stone Away” and “He Arose He Arose” in church on Resurrection Sunday. All the recitations and songs spoke to my spirit then as they do now. The words of God are alive. The words were telling each of us that Jesus was not dead, and that He is alive. I am grateful for my Sunday School teachers and children ministry leaders making the Gospel real to me.
I truly enjoy teaching and learning from the young people in my Sunday School class at Bethany Emmanuel Baptist Church. Jesus is recorded saying in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, “Let the children come to me and don’t stop them, The Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.” We were all God’s children when we accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. What a wonderful gift that we did nothing to earn. Jesus paid it all on Calvary.
How much God loves us? Deacon Singleton at Trinity Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California would always recite Romans 8:38-39(KJV) ” 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Deacon Singleton has gone home to be with the Lord. The memory of this Deacon/Sunday School teacher will always stay with me and will always remind me of how great is God’s love.
In South Africa, Good Friday and Easter Monday are national holidays. The country pauses to let families celebrate the holidays together. It is also the end of the first school term at Teleios Christian School. I will have some downtime during Holy Week holiday. I will attend various worship services during Holy Week. One is at an isiXhosa speaking church called Bethel Baptist Church, then at an Afrikaans speaking church called Calvary Baptist Church, and then at an English speaking church, Bethany Emmanuel Baptist Church. All three congregation are my church family here in Qonce, South Africa.
Be blessed by your special work in Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church. Grow through the power of the Holy Spirit as you are working to share the Gospel in word and in deed. Love, because God is love. I am praying for you as I know you are praying for me. Enjoy this Holy Week with your family.
Please see the video of the grade R-9th classrooms. I am praying for each classroom of students, their families, and their homeroom teachers. See video below:
Prayer Requests:
“Enkosi kakhulu, ndiyabulela.” (Thank you very much, I am grateful.)
