Good News of Great Joy
Luke 2:10 NLT – “The angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!.” he said, “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.””
Dear Family, Friends, and Ministry Partners:
Good news, I have completed my first school year term at Teleios Christian School. The year consisted of proving one-on-one tutoring to nineteen learners, in classroom resource help for the teachers, and collaborating with faculty and administrative staff to better meet the needs of the learners. There were final exams at the end of the term. Once exams were completed, we celebrated with class parties and a faculty/administrative staff outing. Although at times there were some challenges, the overall year brought so much joy to my heart and the Good News of Christ Jesus was told in words and in actions.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and financial support. You have helped specifically to impact the lives of nineteen learners and their families. The learners were assessed to determine their specific learning disability. We have also assessed their learning style in the process. I was able to speak to the learners’ strengths with coaching from Clarice Johnson, my mentor, a retired principal, Alfreda Hunter, my spiritual mother, also a retired principal, and Dr. Sandra Tunstill, a retired special needs teacher and special needs teacher trainer. They are all members of my home church Trinity Baptist of Los Angeles. The Holy Spirit is using these women to give me tools to not just help my learners mentally, but spiritually. I started reciting Philippians 4:13 over every meeting with the learners and have them remember that Philippians 4:13 is the memory verse for Teleios Christian School.
During the school year your prayers and financial gifts provided pens, pencils, papers, and erasers for learners. I was able to buy white board sheets to make any wall a white board that lasted the whole school year. Your prayers help me to use wisdom when making purchases and using funds. Your prayers to the Lord helped me learn and drive a manual transmission car.
You can see from the pictures above; the learners went horseback riding at Daleview Equestrian Academy. Daleview is owned and operated by Klara Webb. A total of twenty-five children from Teleios’ Grade R(Kindergarten) – Grade 2 Learners, went on the outing. There were three horses, one for each grade. The Learners first brushed the horses and were shown how to check the horses’ hoofs for stones. After riding, the children took their time feeding the horses a treat of carrots. God connected me with the owner, Klara. I met Mike Webb, Klara’s husband, first. Mike is a runner like me. He told me how his wife helps special needs children using horseback riding. The horses the children rode on are rescue horses. The children had such a wonderful time. It was the first time any of them rode on a horse. The learner picture riding is very shy and quiet, but she came alive around the horses. Look at what the Lord made happen.
In the gospel of Luke 2:10, God, through the angel, was reassuring the shepherds to not be afraid. My heavenly Father has reassured me many times during the year. What was and is happening is following the Father’s master plan, not mine. I have so much joy and I hope as you are reading you will be filled with the joy of the Lord. I want to keep on saying like the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:12 NLT, “And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News.” The good news of Christ brings boundless joy to all people who accept His love and salvation He brings to their lives.
Please continue sending your emails with encouraging words and prayers. Continue sending your messages and prayers through my Mission Partnership Team (MPT) members. The MPT members always share them with me at our monthly meetings. I really appreciate hearing from all of you.
I wish you and your loved ones a most blessed Christmas sharing the true Joy that comes from our God being with us. Enjoy the opening of the New Year not with fear but with anticipation and expectation of each new day.
Special Prayer Request: The faculty of Teleios Christian School really need Special Education Teacher training. If you are interested in doing some training modules, please pray and ask God to show you how you can help. Please email me if you are interested.
