Spring 2022 Newsletter
Beloved friends and ministry partners,
Greetings in the name of our sweet Lord Jesus from the beautiful Country of Mexico!
I hope and pray that this email will find you all in the best of health. It’s been a few months since I last sent an update. My last update was in December during the time I was home in Montana, when my gramma passed away and my mom was hospitalized. I left three days after mom was discharged from the hospital. I arrived back in Roca Blanca (Cacalote, Oaxaca, Mexico) just in time for the next school session. It has been a rough three months since I came back to language school. I’ve been sick and it’s been one thing after the other. The first two weeks after I came back, I was sick with Covid-19; then, followed with a very bad sinus infection; then, a tooth infection (that needed a root canal done underneath my existing crown); then, parasites in my tummy for almost 2 weeks. I would like to apologize for this overdue update. I was just really sick and even after Covid, the complete recovery from it took a long time. I struggled on and off with headaches/light headedness and feeling tightness in my chest. It’s only been a little over a week that I’m feeling much better. Praising God for His healing and I’m so grateful that in the midst of all, I am doing well with my schooling. I had to miss a few days of school during those times when I wasn’t feeling well, especially when I had Covid, and I needed to be quarantined. I am so grateful to my host family, school mates and teachers for keeping an eye on me and for helping me catch up with my lessons. God is good!
I am doing well in school, but still working hard when it comes to actual speaking with the locals. Like I had shared in one of my newsletters, I find that learning a new language is not easy. It’s very humbling, but frustrating too. However, the frustrating part only takes a few seconds when the person I’m talking to is very kind, patient, and loving and tries to understand what I’m trying to convey, and the conversation ends up with laughter when the word I chose to use in my sentence was totally wrong to what I meant to say. God is good and brings joy in my day! At the end of the day, I am so grateful for God’s faithfulness. I see God through my neighbors, my school mates, my teachers, and the strangers that I meet. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Update About My Parents
While my mom was at the hospital back in December, they implanted a heart monitor before she was discharged. They also gave her a defibrillator vest to wear 24/7. My dad is healing well from his hernia surgery. My parents are doing well. Thank you for your prayers. Please continue praying for my mom and dad. Praising God for His healing!
Since I left home in June for Language School, in the midst of all… here’s what the Lord has been whispering in my heart and what I’m holding on. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all His benefits—who forgive all your iniquity, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from the Pit, Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, Who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5
During this Season of Lent, whatever you are experiencing in your lives, remember God’s faithfulness. In the midst of all, may He bless you; and may your heart be filled with God’s peace, comfort you with His love and joy. You are always in my prayers.
What’s Next?
My visa is expiring June 1st and so I need to exit the country before that date to get my visa renewed. My available time to do it to avoid interruption of my classes is next month, on my school break because school starts again from April 25 through June 11. After this current session is over, two more sessions and I’m done. Praise God!
Thank you for journeying with me. Thank you all for your prayers and your continued support for the ministry. May God bless you all.
Yours in Christ,
