Genesis 16:13 “She [Hagar] gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

I am reading a book called the The God Who Sees: Immigrants, the Bible, and the Journey to Belongby Karen Gonzalez who herself was an immigrant, and now works with immigrants through her role with World Relief.  I had picked it up because one of my relational touch points with God is that He does see.  I am grateful that just as He saw Hagar (an ethnic minority woman, alone and pregnant and later with a child and no place to call home), He saw and cared for the ethnic minority women and children who had no home, by starting the House of Love more than 20 years ago.  That very first child who came was Da—and God has faithfully cared for her all these years.  She has now graduated from Bible college, and she is working in a job she loves, plus getting married October 12^th and will then be moving into her own home.  Rejoice with me in God’s goodness to her!

Prayer and Praise God continues to see!  I am grateful that He sees (and knows!) each of the children who come to the House of Blessing, House of Love or the CDPD.

• Our House of Love (HOL) students are in their last weeks of this semester. Please pray for them to finish up projects, and study hard for finals.
• And please be praying for James, our House of Love (HOL) staff member who will be coming to America in December. One of the goals of this trip is to have him improve his English—but he also needs to be working on that before he comes (I would like him to be comfortable sharing his testimony in English before he leaves here).
• Our House of Blessing (HOB) students will again have a rice distribution. You may remember that HOB parents sign a contract that these young students won’t be begging in the night market on school nights in exchange for rice to feed their families. We are so grateful for the large donation the Baptist women of West Virginia have made to this program that enables us to keep the children safe and off the streets.
• Please pray for the staff at the Center for the Development of Persons with Disabilities (CDPD) to be able to utilize information and connections they have made in these past weeks of visiting other organizations.
• For the past few months, I have been having increasing pain with walking, and have decided to have hip surgery to help correct the problem. Surgery is scheduled for Wed.  Sept 18^th at 1pm (Thailand time) and I would appreciate you praying that the surgery goes well, and I have a good recovery (especially with my physical therapy).  I so appreciate your prayers for me!
