Kristy is trained as a pediatric nurse practitioner and holds a Master’s Certificate in international nutrition. Kristy served for 12 years in the Dominican Republic, leading mobile medical clinics and International Ministries relief efforts following the 2010 Haiti earthquake. As a global consultant, Kristy can visit countries in need of health assessments, ongoing education, health team visits or other forms of collaboration during crisis and non-crisis situations. Her goals are to empower local leaders, to help communities recognize their strengths and understand how to make better use of their resources and to build relationships that increase the health of populations around the world through innovation, networking and encouragement. 

Kristy writes – Starting at the end of September and lasting until the end of January, I will rarely be in my home. Yes, this is the life of a Global Consultant! As much as I love the adventures (and there are plenty in my life!!), this will be an especially busy season for me.  

Judson University is honoring me with the Alumni of the Year award during their Homecoming celebration. I will make a very quick trip to Elgin to receive the award and then just a day or two later, travel to India for the India Mission Summit where dozens of International Ministries personnel, board members and global servants will be attending to support the work of our local partners.
Following my visit to India, I will jet off to the beautiful lands of the state of Maine to attend their annual meeting of American Baptist Churches and then spend several weeks visiting ABC churches, donors and supporters. I look forward to reconnecting with many of the people and churches that have supported my work for almost 2 decades! I also look forward to the scenery at this time of year.
When I return from Maine, it will be November and time to begin the Discovery Trip, Hands Around the World. Two young health professionals from Australia will travel first to Atlanta where we will learn about health disparities, causes and solutions in an urban setting. I’m excited to also give them their first American Thanksgiving! From the time they join me in Atlanta until the end of January, we will be on the road…sometimes returning back to the Atlanta airport for a flight but that will be as close to home as I get.
