We as believers so often need reminders of the Good Samaritan story. Recently, I taught this lesson to my students, and they enjoyed getting to act it out! We were able to challenge the students to do an “out of the ordinary” act of kindness and tell the class when we gathered back together.

This week marked the 85th anniversary of our town’s establishment, celebrated with a weeklong festival uniting the community through parades, music, art, food, and performances. However, it’s also when many beggars gather in the town square. On the festival’s last night, we distributed 50 hygiene kits, which were quickly taken by families in need, highlighting how the community often overlooks this impoverished group.

Our visiting friend noticed the expressions of disdain on the faces of the bystanders as I held one of the poor em children and walked arm in arm with one of the em mothers. However, we Love them anyway … we love those in need just as Jesus demonstrated for us. Additionally, we continue to mentor those who require training and reminders to shine brightly for those who need to hear about the hope found solely in the Savior.
