The Accounting & Payroll Specialist is a hybrid position, onsite at least three days per week, and responsible for a variety of duties related to general accounting in the daily operation and month-end closing. Responsible for processing Global Servant and Home Office Staff payroll. Responsible for various audit functions to support preparation of financial statements. Maintains, analyzes, and reconciles all accounts and related entries monthly.
Responsibilities
- Calculate, update, and maintain monthly changes to global servants’ payroll including health insurance deductions, pension contributions, donations, cost of living changes and grants.
- Prepare and maintain bimonthly domestic staff payroll including health insurance deductions, pension contributions and donations.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly global servant and team salary/ benefit analysis, generate associated wire payments.
- Prepare and ensure timely filings of various annual and quarterly tax filing documentation and
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly closing journal entries, reconciliations, and
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation table.

- Prepare and enter annual budget for missionary taxable benefits and
- Assist with annual audit preparation.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance.
- Maintain information confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education, License, Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience (job-related)
- 2 plus years related experience in payroll, accounting, and general ledger.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Fiscal management and analysis skills with experience in GAAP, US Payroll and Ex-Pat taxes
- Non-profit and global and/or cross-cultural experience
- Strong organizational skills to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Proficiency with NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel, and accounting software applications
