Soon and very soon
Brothers and Sisters,
It’s been over a year since we launched the network building in support of our calling to mission. You have opened your church doors, your heart, and created an atmosphere that enabled us to share our call, cause, and challenge. You supported us spiritually by praying for us, financially by donating to IM to help underwrite our mission-related expenses, and morally with words of encouragement. Furthermore, you have embraced our detour. Although our goal has not been reached, we’d like to express our gratitude. THANK YOU.
As you know, we started the call to mission with excitement; then we experienced a detour which you have prayerfully embraced with us a couple of months ago when we were redirected from France to Togo in West Africa. We were able to shift our focus to Africa, and gratefully began to connect.
Today, however, we’re writing to let you know that we will be taking an extended and unpaid leave of absence from our pre-assignment work with International Ministries beginning immediately, to allow us to attend to some personal and family matters. During this time, our network-building and fundraising efforts will be “on hold.” We will not be seeking or accepting invitations to speak or otherwise work toward building our Mission Partnership Network. We hope to return to our preparation for mission service in six months to a year, Lord willing.
Please be aware that all contributions sent to IM for our support so far have been expended for expenses in our pre-assignment work as well as our preparation for mission service. We understand that you may choose to suspend your giving to IM for our support during this leave time, but if you choose to maintain your giving, your contributions will continue to be applied to current and on-going expenses directly related to our pre-assignment expenses.
Once again, we thank you for your prayers and encouragement, and ask that they might continue during the months ahead.
Remember, soon and very soon, we will be back.
May the Lord keep and bless you.
For the U-Turn Mission,
Awenam and Rev. Holale
