Easter Sunrise Service in Kinshasa
Matthew 28:6 - He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
Will There be Easter Sunday Celebrations in Heaven?
I know we'll be singing "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us." We'll be celebrating a lot. In heaven, I think we'll look a lot like the group that met this Easter for a sunrise service on the Congo River.
There were people from around the world: many tribes and nations. There were poor people, rich people, influential people and not-so-influential people. There were women, children and men from all parts of the world.
We were there for one reason: To Celebrate the Risen Lord. We had baptisms, singing and worship. There was a message about Christ's victory over death.
We shared our celebration with our brothers and sisters around the world who were gathering with the same purpose. It felt like a taste of Heaven. Our diversity added to the celebration.
Not only had Jesus gained victory over Death; but, He was victorious in all our lives. No matter the tribe or the nation, Jesus was Victor over Sin and Death. We were gathered to lift up the Name above All Names and He was with us.
If there will be Easter Sunday Celebrations in Heaven, I think it will look a lot like the one we had here. Only, I'm sure it will be infinitely more joyous and more splendid.
He has risen, indeed.
