August 2011

At times I’ve felt like I was in a year-long marathon.   The past twelve months I’ve had the honor to travel, share with congregations, make many new friends and invite people to join in the awesome privilege of participating in the mighty work God is doing in North East India.    While enjoying all this and recognizing the importance of it all, my eyes were set upon the finish line…my goal, reaching the  amount of support needed to be appointed (become International Ministries personnel and actually receive a salary – always a helpful aspect to maintaining a family J ), be commissioned and actually go to India!

Well, we’ve made it through the READY…. & SET …..

In May we were appointed!   In June we spent time in orientation with the International Ministries staff at Valley Forge and now we are preparing for the next step….our official Commissioning Service .

We will be Commissioned as International Ministries Development Workers to North East India at our home church,  Central Baptist Church in Springfield, IL  Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 10:30 AM.

We are excitedly preparing for this event and request your prayers and presence if possible.    We feel honored, encouraged and so blessed that the church is combining all their services, including the satellite congregation, to send us out with unified prayer and support.   Our International Ministries Board President, Ruth Clark will preside over the act of commissioning, our International Ministries India Director, Rev. Dr. Ben Chan will also participate as well as other International Ministries staff.  Of course our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Reg Mills (also an International Ministries Board Member) will bless us with a message from the word.  Rev. Dr. Dwight Stinnett, who has also been a great blessing to us will take part.  The members of our Missionary Partnership Team (MPT) will also be installed with anointing prayer as they carry the important responsibility of being our representatives here while we are abroad.

This will be a great time of celebration as well as a holy time of commissioning.

Please do be in prayer with us on that day.

Aahh…..the marathon is over!

NO.....this is just the beginning!

This was just the first lap warm-up!  We are about to embark upon the task to which we’ve been called.  OCTOBER 18TH we will fly from Chicago O’Hare Airport to New Delhi, India and then on to Guwahati, Assam, arriving OCTOBER 21ST.

We are so thankful for your support and appreciate your prayers as we continue in this amazing journey of service.
