Japan Baptist Union Creates New Website in English

March 21, 2011 News
The Japan Baptist Union (JBU) has created a website in English called Crisis Tohoku 2011.

Rev. Makoto Tanno, General Secretary of the JBU, thanked International Ministries missionaries Gordon and Lee Ann Hwang for their hard work in getting this website up and running so quickly.  Living in Yokohama, the Hwangs made good use of their gifts of service, hospitality and teaching conversational English in making the website a reality.

The Crisis Tohoku 2011 website contains numerous reports and updates on the extent of damage to churches and schools across the prefectures of Japan.  There are letters and prayer requests from pastors, along with information about their needs, and the ministries springing up to assist those who are homeless.

As quickly as information is received, it appears in the “Hot News” section, along with recent photos from those visiting the devastated areas.  The website also provides answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the need for volunteers, supplies and donations.
