Bibles and Camps for Hungarians

This project seeks to raise $11,000 to provide Bibles and scholarships to send Hungarian children to the English and Children’s Gospel Camps.

Goal: $11,000

About this Mission Project

Vecsés, Hungary, is a small suburb of Budapest with one evangelical church serving people from more than 12 communities. Every July, the church holds Children’s Gospel Camps for Hungarians in Hungary, Romania, Serbia and the Ukraine. These camps present the gospel, provide the kids with a meal and give them a Hungarian or English Bible.

The church also offers also a week-long intensive English-speaking camp, which was where Levi accepted Christ. Levi is a positive, brilliant, encouraging and responsible young man who is going to high school and helping his family and the church in Vecsés. Levi helps lead others to Christ and disciples them.

This mission project seeks to provide Bibles and scholarships to enable hundreds of students to attend the English and Children’s Gospel Camps.

A gift of $22 covers the cost of one children’s camp scholarships and $110 sends five children. A gift of $260 sends two students to English Camp. A gift of $550 will provide 350 Hungarian Bibles or 210 English Bibles.

Mission Project Specifics

This project seeks to raise $11,000 to provide Bibles and scholarships to send Hungarian children to the English and Children’s Gospel Camps.

The purpose of the project is to present the gospel to hundreds of Hungarian children and students and to give each one a Bible in Hungarian or English. This project will be managed by IM missionaries Kurt and Carrie Smalley, church planters with the Vecsés Baptist Church in Hungary.

The young Hungarians who come to Christ at these camps will be connected to local Bible-based churches. It is anticipated that continuing discipleship will affect their families and peers, expanding the kingdom of God in Hungary and bringing hope.

Evi is one of the students expanding her English to help improve her job skills and employability. Both have grown tremendously in Christ and self-confidence thanks to English Camp as well as being involved in the Bible study.
