Rev. Dr. Carolyn L. Gordon

Nationally and Internationally recognized preacher, teacher and lecturer Dr. Carolyn L. Gordon is known for her wit, wisdom, spirit and ability to make simple the Word of God.  Before serving as the Associate Professor of Church and Community at Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Carolyn was the Director of Ministries in Higher Education for the District of Columbia Baptist Convention, a communications professor at Bowie State University and the Associate Pastor of Craig Memorial Community Church in Chapel Oaks, Maryland. 

Carolyn Gordon has traveled extensively in Europe investigating the possibility of student involvement in overseas mission opportunities, and to  Nicaragua and Costa Rica on a theological missions immersion project.  She went to Brazil to participate in the ordination ceremony of one of the first Baptist women in that country ever to be ordained to the pastoral ministry.

Carolyn is the former national Vice-president for the Baptist Women in Ministry organization. She holds degrees in Journalism, a Master of Arts degree in religious education, a Master of Divinity degree in theology, and a Master of Arts degree in communications arts, and received her Ph.D. in Human Communication Studies.  Carolyn has used her skills as an author, columnist and television producer.   Among her many awards, Carolyn received the Outstanding African American Alumni Award, from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in 2003.
